Why Panthalas
The benefits of working with a focused practice.
Panthalas is a small practice with a clear purpose. Understanding what makes our approach different helps you decide whether it is the right fit.
Back to HomeCore Advantages
What you get from Panthalas
Individual sessions, always
Sessions are arranged for one participant only. The facilitator's attention is not divided. Questions that arise are yours, and the answers are shaped to your actual situation.
No products, no referrals
Panthalas does not sell or recommend financial products of any kind. There is no arrangement with any bank, insurance company, or investment platform. This is a foundational condition of the practice.
Printed materials for you to keep
Each programme closes with a printed summary or guide written about your situation. These are yours to keep and use without needing to refer back to the session or contact us again.
Paced around practice
Sessions are not held consecutively. Gaps between them are intentional — they allow time to apply what was discussed and to return with what was confusing or useful. Understanding settles through use, not repetition.
Penang studio or video
Work can be done in person at the George Town studio or over video for participants elsewhere in Malaysia. Both formats use the same materials and the same careful approach.
Private and discreet
Financial information shared in sessions is handled with discretion. Nothing is shared with third parties. The setting — whether studio or video — is always private.
In Detail
Each benefit, explained
Facilitators with relevant, working experience
Panthalas facilitators came from banking, household financial planning, and related fields before moving into education work. They are familiar with the kinds of documents and habits that are common among working adults and households in Malaysia — EPF statements, credit card charge summaries, e-wallet reconciliation, insurance policy documents, and similar materials.
This means sessions begin from a grounded place. There is no need to explain what a document is — the facilitator already knows, and the work can begin at the question that actually matters to the participant.
A structured process that follows your own records
Each programme follows a structure — sessions have clear purposes, materials are prepared in advance, and the sequence is designed to build understanding over time rather than covering a topic once and moving on.
At the same time, the work is grounded in what you actually have. Sessions do not use hypothetical examples if your own records are available and relevant. The structure serves the participant, not the other way around.
Straightforward communication at every step
Before a programme begins, the scope, fees, and what is included are confirmed in writing. Scheduling is handled with care for the participant's availability. Between sessions, brief clarifying questions can be sent by email.
If a question arises after a programme has closed, a brief follow-up conversation can usually be arranged. We do not believe in a hard stop at the last session if a participant has a genuine question that requires a short answer.
Transparent pricing, with no hidden components
Programme fees are fixed and are confirmed before any work begins. There are no additional charges for materials, preparation, or follow-up within the programme period. For longer engagements, a phased payment arrangement is available on request.
The value of financial education is not always immediate — it is built over time as habits and understanding develop. Panthalas prices its programmes to be accessible to working adults, not only to those with substantial disposable income.
Practical outcomes that stay with you
Participants who complete a Panthalas programme leave with something tangible: a monthly review sheet, a printed guide to their household's financial shelf, or a clear method for reading their own statements month by month.
These are habits and tools, not conclusions. The aim is not to answer a question once but to build the participant's capacity to read their own situation with confidence going forward.

Distinctive Features
What is distinctive about Panthalas
Programmes shaped by actual participant experience
The three programmes Panthalas currently offers were not designed from a template. They emerged from repeated conversations with participants over several years, and their structure was refined through actual use. If a session format was not working, it was changed.
A practice grounded in the Malaysian financial context
Sessions work with Malaysian financial institutions, EPF and PRS structures, common e-wallet providers, and the kinds of insurance products most Malaysian adults hold. There is no need to translate from a foreign financial context.
A quiet, unhurried setting by design
The Panthalas studio in George Town is arranged specifically for educational conversations about financial records. It is not a bank branch, a shared co-working space, or a meeting room. The setting is quiet and the pace is unhurried — this is a deliberate design choice, not an incidental one.
No upselling, no follow-on products
When a programme is complete, it is complete. There is no attempt to extend it into a financial planning engagement, an investment platform, or any other service. Participants are free to seek whatever other professional advice they need — Panthalas does not claim to be the answer to every financial question.
